Steve was my good friend and cousin.  He kept us in stitches with his dry sense of humor.  His light still shines in our family.  In spite of his heart problem he went on to finish law school and taught principles of law in community college.  He died when he was just 32.  Along with his sister Pam and his brother Jim we speak of him often and miss him every day.

I really appreciate the blog postings to learn about our H.S. friends.  I liked Stephen a lot, and I am glad to know that, even though he died at a very young age, he had a lot of successful pursuits and a happy life with a family who loved him so much.  Thanks for sharing about Stephen.

It seemed like I was always going to school with Steve Boyles. We first met at Jason Lee Junior High School. Then we were pals at Wilson and later at Whitman College. Others have talked about his dry sense of humor. He was that sort of guy and a lot more. It was a privilege to know him and a shame that we lost him at such a young age. It's an honor for me to make occasional donations to the scholarship fund set up in his name at Whitman.
