I was saddened to hear of Karen's death: my brother John, a V P at UPS often saw Karen at meetings and events about town; she affectionately called him Johnny HIckey (as my 'little brother')! John always had a message for me from Karen!

I was a lucky one to accompany Karen on the tour of Wilson at our 55th Reunion; she had such a depth of knowledge about the Tacoma Public Schools, the outstanding Principal of Wilson and many major events that have transpired since WE were there! WE laughed about our class 'cleaning up the campus', choosing school colors, the mascot and even contributing to OUR SONG! I imagine that all of you can still sing it!!

Karen was a 'neighbor' of many of us who were in the Class of 61:  Lynne Chapman, Barbara Fiorino, Larry Huff, Bob Abelsett, Bob Coyne, Mark Neudorfer and Andy Bergman...(Bunny Lemoine was part of what we called our 26th Street Gang, too!) We all remember Karen as a member of the Wilson Band!

Karen was  a dedicated Civic Leader who made us all proud! Her spirit will be missed in Tacoma and beyond. My heartfelt condolences to her family; their loss happened way too soon. We will always remember and honor Karen's memory.
